Trauma Informed Therapy

Our nervous system is shaped by the experiences we have throughout our lives. While traumatic experiences can leave us feeling stuck in patterns of fear, overwhelm or emotional disconnection, our nervous system also has an incredible capacity to heal.

In therapy, I help clients understand how trauma has affected the way they think, feel, respond and relate to others. By making sense of these patterns with compassion rather than self-criticism, it becomes possible to develop new ways of responding that feel calmer, more connected and more authentic.

While trauma can have a profound impact on our lives, I do not believe it has to define our future. Research into post-traumatic growth (PTG) shows that, with the right support and opportunities for healing, many people develop a deeper understanding of themselves, stronger relationships, a renewed appreciation of life and a greater sense of personal strength. This does not mean that trauma was necessary or beneficial, nor does it erase the pain of what happened. Rather, it offers hope that healing is possible, and that PTSD does not have to be the end of your story.

Therapy offers the opportunity to reconnect with yourself gently. Through a safe, trusting and collaborative therapeutic relationship, we can begin to process difficult experiences, strengthen emotional regulation and create the conditions for lasting change.

I believe that healing is about much more than reducing symptoms. It is about moving beyond survival and towards a life where you can experience greater emotional freedom, deeper self-understanding and a renewed sense of connection with yourself and others.
